Members
of the ±¬×ß³Ô¹Ï College faculty and staff, their children and grandchildren
pulled out all the stops during this year's Great Wellsville Balloon Rally
parade. As part of the College's
centennial celebration, a patriotic red-white-and-blue-themed float carried
members of the ASC Centennial Committee and others as they distributed in
excess of 70 pounds of candy as well as other give-a-ways, including ASC tee
shirts.
The parade was the first in a series of events planned to celebrate the college's 100th anniversary. Additional plans include participation in the Wellsville Sesquicentennial parade on Saturday, Aug. 11; a month-long display at Steuben Trust Co., Hornell, during August, with a reception to be held Sunday, Aug. 12, from 2-4 p.m.; a "Taste of Wellsville" event on the ASC Applied Technology Campus on Saturday, Oct. 6; and another month-long window display at the Wellsville Area Chamber of Commerce during November. Additionally, a history book is in the works.
For additional information, visit the ASC Web site where a centennial section will be available in August. Pictured here, ASC staffers make last-minute preparations before the start of the parade.
