Soccer player Jody Ninos (Alfred Almond) and football player Mike Septh (Monroe Woodbury) have been named the ±¬×ß³Ô¹Ï College athletes of the week.
Ninos scored six goals and passed out three assists in the Lady Pioneers perfect 3-0 week. She scored two goals and had an assist in a 3-0 victory over JCC-Olean, a 5-1 victory over Erie CC, and 4-0 victory over Cayuga CC. For the season she has scored 10 goals and has passed out nine assists for 29 points.
Ninos and her teammates have helped A-State climb over .500 with a 7-5-1 record and a 6-5-1 record in Region III Division III play.
Septh recorded his 4th 100-yard receiving game of the season in Saturday's 34-28 loss versus Dean. Septh caught six passes for 125 yards. He caught touchdown passes of 21 and 6 yards. His 6-yard touchdown catch with 24 seconds remaining in the contest tied the game at 28-28. For the season he has caught 25 passes for 627 yards and seven scores. He leads the Northeast Football Conference with 104.5 yards receiving a game.
