Lady Pioneers hang tough but fall at CCRI

The ±¬×ß³Ô¹Ï College women's basketball team hung tough with #18 CC of Rhode Island but the Lady Knights used a strong second half en route to a 69-50 victory.  The Lady Pioneers five game winning streak was snapped and the team sits at 6-3 on the season while CCRI improves to 6-2.

CCRI led 37-33 at half and the game was still within striking distance for the Lady Pioneers until the final five minutes when the Knights pushed the lead out.

Tiffany McLaughlin (Wellsville) led ±¬×ß³Ô¹Ï with 15 points while Anthia Smith (Elmira Free) chipped in 12 points.

The Lady Pioneers continue their road trip to New England with a Noon tip-off versus Dean College on Sunday.  ASC and Dean met last Saturday in the championship game of the ASC Tournament with the Lady Pioneers coming out on top 63-53.
