±¬×ß³Ô¹Ï improves to 6-2

The ±¬×ß³Ô¹Ï College men's soccer team got back on track with a 6-0 victory over Corning CC on Thursday afternoon.  The Pioneers, ranked #5 in the latest NJCAA Division III poll, improve to 6-2, 6-1 Region III Division III play.

Alex Curran (Williamson) got the Blue & Gold on the board 14 minutes into the contest after getting a pass from Matthew Owlett (Alfred Almond).  ASC increased the lead to 2-0 with 15:58 remaining in the half when a ball was knocked in by a Corning defender.

Lucas Wales (Bath) made it 3-0 ten minutes into 2nd half after getting a pass from Justin Handley (Iroquois).  Koya Takadama (Soma, Japan) connected from just outside the box with 26:34 to add to the lead.  Ryan Hadley (Jasper Troupsburg) scored on a header after getting a centering pass from Sam Alt (Williamsville South) with 19:12 remaining.  Hiroshi Ozaki (Tokyo, Japan) scored from thirty yards out to 10:12 remaining to cap the scoring.

The Pioneers held a 42 to 3 advantage on shots.  Dan Fabiny (Wellsville) recorded his second full game shutout of the season in net.  He made two saves.  John Lively made 16 saves for Corning.

±¬×ß³Ô¹Ï has the weekend off and will return to action next Wednesday when they travel to Monroe CC for a 4 p.m. contest.
