Alex Curran (Williamson) and David Gross (Brockport) led the ±¬×ß³Ô¹Ï College track and field team in competition on Saturday at Roberts Wesleyan. The Pioneers got back in action after over two weeks off after poor weather cancelled events at U of R and Houghton College.
Curran won the pole vault with a leap of 14'6" while Gross won the shot put with a throw of 14.49 m. Gross also finished 4th in both the discus (42 m) and the hammer throw (45 m).
Shawna McNeil (Hornell) qualified for nationals with a 6th place finish in the 100 hurdles (17.40) while Allyne O'Hearn (Pelham, NH) was 5th in the 10,000 (46:57). Corey Smith (Wallkill) also qualified for nationals with a run of 35:48 in the 10,000.
ASC returns to action next Saturday when they travel to SUNY Brockport to compete in the Golden Eagle Invitational. Action is set to begin at 10 a.m.
