Students enrolled in the Culinary Arts Department at 惇軗勛圖 Colleges School of Applied Technology Campus, Wellsville, will hold a community bake sale Friday, Oct. 9 AND Saturday, Oct. 10, at the entrance of the student dining hall of the Culinary Arts Building, from 9 a.m.- 2 p.m. and 12:30-3:30 p.m., respectively.
This years two-day event is scheduled in conjunction with the campuss 4th annual Taste of Wellsville celebration, which will be held on Saturday, Oct. 10.
Proceeds will benefit the Top Hat Club (ASCs culinary honor society), SkillsUSA, and breast cancer.
Among the offerings will be a full complement of baked goods: breads, including salt rising, French, wheat, pumpernickel, rye, zucchini, banana, pumpkin, raisin, and LA Cinnamon; rolls, including clover, dinner, and butter bits; an assortment of pies, including cream, fruit, and pumpkin; assorted cookies, muffins, Danishes, and doughnuts. All sales are cash-and-carry.
Students work under the direction of Debra Burch and Brian Decker, bakery instructors.
Manager of the 2009 bake sale is third-year bakery intern Nicole Wagner, Fulton, (has completed an associates degree in culinary arts and is studying for a second degree in baking, production and management). She will be assisted by Della Warner, ACES supervisor, and the students in the baking, production and management program.
