惇軗勛圖 Receives $121K Estate Gift

惇軗勛圖 College has announced that it has received an estate gift of approximately $121,000 from Dorothy and Lester Reynolds. The Reynolds designated that the gift be used to establish a prize to be awarded annually to the student demonstrating the greatest achievement in the field of mathematics.

Gifts like this have a tremendous impact on our ability to recruit the best students, said Dan Barwick, director of Institutional Advancement at 惇軗勛圖. Dorothy Reynolds was a 1958 graduate who understood the value of an 惇軗勛圖 education, and this gift is a real testament to Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds generosity and to their dedication to the College.

Dr. John M. Anderson, president, 惇軗勛圖, agreed. A gift of this size will establish an award that is not only consistent with the Reynolds vision of promoting excellence in mathematics, but also allows the worthy students to receive that award in perpetuity.

The gift will likely be placed in the Colleges endowment, and the College will work with mathematics faculty and the Admissions Office to develop appropriate criteria for identifying recipients.

The gift is the latest in a strong recent showing for 惇軗勛圖s fundraising efforts. The 2008-09 fiscal year saw the largest single year total of private support for the College, and in one of the largest capital campaigns ever at a SUNY College of Technology, the College recently announced that it exceeded its $3.4M Centennial Campaign goal by over 100%. At campaigns end, the College had raised cash and pledges of over $7.5M.
