The ±¬×ß³Ô¹Ï College women's soccer team defeated #5 Finger Lakes CC 1-0 in a hard fought battle at Pioneer Stadium. The win, the Lady Pioneers sixth straight, improves ASC to 9-3 on the year while FLCC falls to 11-2-1.
The lone goal of the contest came with 14:12 remaining when Jenna Lynn (York) created a breakaway situation with a nice move. She was able to slide a shot past the goaltender for the game winning goal.
ASC nearly added to their lead a few moments later when Charise Nankivell's (Hornell) shot rang off the top cross bar. The Pioneers held a 12 to 3 shot advantage in the contest.
Mo Parks (Avoca) made one save in net to record her second shutout of the season while Kaci MacIntyre made 10 stops for FLCC.
±¬×ß³Ô¹Ï, 8-3 in Region III Division III play, step out of DIII play on Thursday when they take on NJCAA Division I Monroe CC in Rochester. The game is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start.
