Wesley Appointed VP for Institutional Advancement

Image removed.惇軗勛圖 College President Dr. John M. Anderson is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Derek Wesley as vice president for Institutional Advancement, effective July 1, 2011.

As vice president for Alumni Council and internal and external stakeholders, including business and industry, retirees, and grant-funding organizations.

The 惇軗勛圖 College community is pleased that Dr. Wesley will be joining us this summer, said Anderson. He has a proven track record and will bring energy and enthusiasm to the task of helping secure the colleges financial future.

Prior to joining the ASC community, Wesley served in a similar capacity as vice president for institutional advancement at Mount Marty College, Yankton, SD. Additionally, Wesley has worked as the assistant director of special gifts and Catholic education for the Diocese of Providence (RI); and as assistant director of operations and research, Alumni/Development Office at Providence College (RI). Additionally, Wesley has taught history courses at the Community College of Rhode Island, Warwick.

Wesley is a member of the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), the Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement (APRA), Planned 惇軗勛圖 Council of Rhode Island (PGCRI), and the New England Development Research Association (NEDRA).

Wesley holds a doctorate in educational leadership from Johnson and Wales University, Providence, RI; two masters degrees: educational administration and history, from Providence College (RI), a bachelors degree in history from UMASS, Amherst, and teaching certificates (MA & RI) in history and social studies.

He is married to the former Michelle Laflamme; they are the parents of Nicholas, 4, and Alexander, 1.
