The ±¬×ß³Ô¹Ï women's basketball team went on the road and won a 61-50 decision over Erie CC in a key Region III Division II contest. The Lady Pioneers second straight victory improves the team to 12-8 on the season and 3-3 in RIII DII contests.
±¬×ß³Ô¹Ï held a 28-25 halftime led by as many as 15 in the 2nd half. The Pioneers forced the Kats into 26 turnovers as they avenged a 68-66 overtime loss to the Kats on January 21st.
Camille Romero (Queens Village/Mary Louis) led Alfred with 17 points, seven assists, and six rebounds while Haley Witchella (Oxford Academy) finished with 13 points. Ardaisha Hudson (Brooklyn/Food & Finance) chipped in 12 points and seven boards while Nuri Bey (Bronx/HS of Computers & Technology) finished with six points, 10 rebounds, and seven steals.
Jasmine Ball and Kadijah Kidd both finished with 13 to lead the Lady Kats.
Alfred continues their three game road trip on Saturday with a 1 p.m. battle at Niagara CCC.
