The ±¬×ß³Ô¹Ï baseball team struggled to get the offense going and fell to Keystone (PA) College JV in their 2012 spring season opener. The Giants won the opener 11-0 and the nightcap 8-3.
Eric Mehaffey (Lisbon) led the Pioneers with a four hit day. He was 3 for 3 in the first game and 1 for 1 in the second game with two walks. Brett Rapan (Bolivar Richburg) was 2 for 4 with a double in game one.
The second game of the doubleheader was ended after six innings as it began to snow.
±¬×ß³Ô¹Ï plays again on Monday, March 12th when they begin their spring trip at Hiwassee College JV. The doubleheader in Madisonville, TN is slated for 1 p.m. first pitch.
