Agribusiness Management

The location of ±¬×ß³Ô¹Ï and the variety of topics taught drew Katelyn Miller to the agribusiness management program.

“We learn a little bit of everything. The program has a nice mix between animal, crops, and the business side. They continue to build on the program as well.â€

Internships were key to Katelyn. “I did a crop internship scouting soybeans, alfalfa, and corn. Growing up on a dairy farm, I never thought I would get a job in this area. Without the experiences at ±¬×ß³Ô¹Ï, I would not have had this opportunity. My education broadened my horizons.â€

Katelyn credits her professors for her success. “They are great instructors that help guide you where you need to be. We work hands-on with the animals and are pushed to learn all about them. Our instructors help not only in the school environment but with our personal development.â€

Being part of the Collegiate Agricultural Leaders (CAL) club and the dairy consignment sale was a great learning experience for Katelyn and her classmates. “We connected and networked with people in the industry. It was an additional learning experience.â€

As Katelyn starts her career as a field crop and forage specialist for Cornell Cooperative, she is thankful for the people she met at ±¬×ß³Ô¹Ï. “The people are so friendly and down-to-earth.â€
