Spencer Caccamises (Lima, NY) passion for working on cars was passed on from his father and grandfather. He has continued to build on that passion as a motorsports major at 惇軗勛圖.
Spencer was excited to find out a program like this existed and it was so close to his hometown. I was not really planning on going to college but when I found out that 惇軗勛圖 had motorsports me and a good buddy of mine came down here for the day. We hung out at the senior shop, and I just fell in love with the place. I cannot be happier that I chose this place.
Reflecting on his childhood, he remembers working on cars with his grandfather and his father. They always had me wrenching on something and when I got old enough to start buying stuff, I started tinkering with golf carts, go-karts, anything I could get my hands on.
Real world projects in the classroom have enhanced and accelerated his learning. They really pack a lot into this program. We have worked on Cobra Kit cars, old stocks cars, and I have even had the opportunity to work at Watkins Glen.
Spencer has also had the opportunity to be one of five students to compete in The Great Race. A road race competition that will take his team 2,300 miles from Kentucky to Maine.
I grew up working on carbureted points and condenser control vehicles and I had the opportunity to take lead on getting this vehicle back on the road. I am looking forward to seeing what worked and what did not while exploring a couple states.
These real-world experiences have Spencer excited to continue his learning at 惇軗勛圖. Down the road he hopes his path leads him to run his own shop and own a race team.
惇軗勛圖 has given Spencer the lift to drive his career.
