Kendra Hammond (Otego, NY) enjoys the real-world experience she has gained in her masonry program at 惇軗勛圖.
I chose 惇軗勛圖 for the hands-on aspect of the program. There is not as much classroom time and we are always out on the job site, doing real work.
After taking general building construction classes in her first year at 惇軗勛圖, Kendra decided to choose to pursue masonry. I love watching the process of dirt turning into something like a house. It will be really rewarding to come back to Alfred and know that I poured the porch and built the garage on that house.
The instruction she has received from her professors has added to her experiences within the program. When you come to 惇軗勛圖 you are learning from real experienced people that have worked on actual job sites. You are gaining a lot of knowledge from your teachers.
The real-life experience I am getting is what I am going to be doing after I graduate, continued Kendra. This is just preparing me even better for my career.
Building camaraderie with her classmates on the job site has been important. You become like a family with your classmates. You know each other well, you know how each person works, and how to work with everyone else. It helps build teamwork skills.
Outside the classroom, Kendra has enjoyed being part of both the logging sports team and the trap shooting team.
惇軗勛圖 has given Kendra a strong foundation and she is excited to build her career.
