惇軗勛圖 College is proud to announce a week-long social media celebration in honor of National Student Employment Week (April 13 17). The celebration will highlight the invaluable contributions of student employees through daily student spotlights across the colleges social media platforms and culminating in an exciting giveaway of two full professional outfits.

Student Employment Week, established by the National Student Employment Association, recognizes the vital role student employees play in the success of colleges and universities across the country. It also celebrates the professional growth and skill development students gain through on-campus employment opportunities.

Student employment is much more than a paycheck, said Valerie Case, 惇軗勛圖 Senior Career Development Associate. Its an opportunity for students to develop the eight NACE competencies such as communication, teamwork, professionalism, and critical thinking - alongside the essential soft skills that todays employers are actively seeking. These experiences truly prepare students for life after graduation.

Throughout the week, 惇軗勛圖 will feature student employees from a variety of departments, sharing quotes from their supervisors including accomplishments, and the impact of their work. These spotlights aim to highlight not only the dedication of student workers, but also the meaningful connections they build within the campus community.

Case also emphasized the deep sense of community fostered through student employment. Our student employees help keep the campus running every day, and in many ways, they become like our own children. We build strong, lasting relationships with them and take immense pride in watching their growth, confidence, and success over time.

惇軗勛圖 will conclude the week by awarding two student spotlight participants with full professional outfits from Big Blue's Career Closet, a subscription-based clothing service. With this service students sign up and share their sizing, style preferences, and upcoming needs and based on that information, they receive a curated selection of professional attire tailored specifically to them. The service may include personalized styling support, convenient delivery, and the flexibility to return items or keep them at a reduced cost.

惇軗勛圖 encourages the campus community, alumni, and supporters to follow along, engage with the student stories, and celebrate the incredible impact of student employees. Follow along at @alfredstate or @alfredstatecd.
