Architecture students present design ideas to the Town of Friendship

±¬×ß³Ô¹Ï College (ASC) architecture students in Design Studio 5 presented comprehensive plans to reimagine the Town of Friendship. Three groups of students worked for eight weeks and presented their concepts and ideas to interested members of the community at Friendship Central School. Read Article

Students present Drinking Water Treatment plans to Allegany County Department of Health

Six groups of ±¬×ß³Ô¹Ï students majoring in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Surveying, and Architecture participated in a hands-on learning showcase in their Environmental Tech Concepts class. The students presented their drinking water treatment plans and posters to representatives from the Allegany County Department of Health (ACDOH).

±¬×ß³Ô¹Ï has been awarded $474,019 in funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF) through an Advanced Technological Education (ATE) grant. The grant will support a project led by Assistant Professors Jessica Hutchison and Dr. Mohamed Eleshaky entitled â€œDeveloping a Robotics and Automation Technician Pathway for the Agricultural and Industrial Sectors.â€

Dr. Jon Owejan, assistant professor of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Technology, and Nathan DeMario, a senior majoring in mechanical engineering technology, have invented an advanced cooling system that doesn’t require a chemistry degree to understand how it works; it uses water instead of refrigerants to carry heat out of buildings.
