Bake at the Lake

Homecoming/Family Weekend 2008 was such a success with the addition of the new ±¬×ß³Ô¹Ï College athletic complex, the Alumni Association Board has decided to join the festivities and incorporate activities from Bake at the Lake during Homecoming/Family Weekend 2009. Read Article

Four Swimmers Earn All-Region

Four members of the ±¬×ß³Ô¹Ï College men's swimming team earned All-Region honors based on their performance at the Region III/Northeast Districts.  Aaron Mychack (Lansing), Brett Kozlowski (N. Tonawanda), Phillip Valenta (Maine Endwell), and Cory Roberts (Marcus Whitman) were honored. Read Article

Wrestlers Compete at Nationals

Mike Gustafson (Warren, PA) led a trio of ±¬×ß³Ô¹Ï College wrestlers at the NJCAA National Championships in Rochester, MN over the weekend.  Gustafson was the lone Pioneer that registered a victory. Read Article

Pioneers Fall In Semis

The ±¬×ß³Ô¹Ï College men's basketball team fell behind by twenty and tried to rally but fell 88-73 to Monroe CC in the Region III Division II Tournament semifinals.  Monroe connected was 8 for 15 from three in the first half to take control of the game. Read Article

Lady Pioneers fall in Regional Opener

The ±¬×ß³Ô¹Ï College rallied from a 16-point second half deficit to tie the game at 48-48 with 4:30 remaining but Erie CC finished the game on a 16-5 run to advance to the Region III Division II Final Four.  The Lady Pioneers close out the season with a 10-14 mark while the Lady Kats improve to 15-12 and will take on #1 seeded Genesee CC. ASC's Office of Communications Recipient of Three Awards

±¬×ß³Ô¹Ï College's Office of Communications has been notified that it was named a recipient of three awards in the 24th  Annual Admissions Advertising Awards Competition, sponsored by the Admissions Marketing Report publication. Winning entries were the ±¬×ß³Ô¹Ï College total recruitment package (gold); Alfred State College direct mail advertising visit post card (merit); and ±¬×ß³Ô¹Ï College Web site (merit). Read Article

±¬×ß³Ô¹Ï College to Host Post-Secondary SkillsUSA Contest March 28

±¬×ß³Ô¹Ï College's School of Applied Technology, Wellsville, will host the 11th annual New York State Postsecondary (college level) SkillsUSA competition Saturday, March 28, 2009.  Proposed categories of competition are automotive service, CNC milling, carpentry, collision repair technology, commercial baking, computer maintenance technology, cosmetology, culinary, job skills demonstration, masonry, precision machining, residential wiring, technical drafting, and welding. Land-locked ±¬×ß³Ô¹Ï Adds Fog Horn to Its Safety Notification System

±¬×ß³Ô¹Ï College, in its continuing efforts to ensure the safety of its students, faculty, and staff recently added another piece to its comprehensive emergency notification system.  Essi Corp., a company based in Broussard, LA, supplied ±¬×ß³Ô¹Ï with a 133db outdoor, omni-directional warning siren which emits a 360 degree beam of sound on a horizontal plane.  Read Article

±¬×ß³Ô¹Ï WINS Club Raises Money

Students at ±¬×ß³Ô¹Ï College who are members of the WINS Club (Women in Non-traditional Studies, though it is open to all students) recently raised money through pop can and bottle returns, enabling them to present a check for $50 to Both Your Hands (a nonprofit organization designed to connect caring communities with poor villages to create self sufficiency and pride in achievement). Four Wrestlers Earn Postseason Honors

Four members of the ±¬×ß³Ô¹Ï College wrestling team have earned postseason honors based on their performances at the Region III/Northeast Championships.  Mike Gustafson (Warren, PA) and Cody Lansberry (Kendall) earned All-Region and All-WNYAC honors while Darren Whittall (Starpoint) and Dan Dwyer (Lafayette) earned All-Region honors.
