Mary Anne Blum Condon Returns to ±¬×ß³Ô¹Ï College

Mary Anne Blum Condon, Hornell, former associate professor of nursing at ±¬×ß³Ô¹Ï College, will return to campus Aug. 7, 2008, in a new role: she will work half-time in the President's Office serving as government relations coordinator and half-time as director of the BSN Program in the Nursing Department. She will sit on the president's cabinet. Read Article

Pioneer Farm

±¬×ß³Ô¹Ï College (ASC) and the Animal Welfare Institute (AWI) are pleased to announce a partnership to establish Pioneer Farm, a model farm to be operated by the college in accordance with Animal Welfare Approved standards. It will focus on teaching grazing systems and animal husbandry practices that enhance land use and animal well-being. Read Article

Michelle Green Receives 2008 FORE Triumph Educator Award

Michelle Green, MPS, RHIA, CMA(AAMA), CPC, FAHIMA (NY), SUNY (State University of New York) Distinguished Teaching Professor, Physical and Life Sciences Department, Alfred State College, has received the 2008 FORE Triumph Educator Award from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). Athletes Begin to Report this Week

The 2008-09 ±¬×ß³Ô¹Ï College athletic season kicks off this week as preseason camps open in preparation for the fall seasons.  Football, volleyball, men's & women's soccer, and baseball will all report to campus and begin practice by Sunday while the cross country team will begin practicing on Tuesday. PCI and Alumni Association Partner to Create a New Alumni Directory

The ±¬×ß³Ô¹Ï College Alumni Association has chosen to partner with PCI Publishing Concepts to create a new Alumni Directory. This is long overdue as the last directory was published in 1994 and since that time nearly 15,000 new alumni have been added to our ranks. Read Article

NYS Sen. Catharine Young Secures Funding for ±¬×ß³Ô¹Ï College Student Center

NYS Sen. Catharine M. Young, (R-Olean) visited the ±¬×ß³Ô¹Ï College campus recently to announce $33.5 million in funding for a new student center on the campus. Sen. Young, long a friend of the college, successfully worked to get the funding put back into the state appropriations budget after it had been removed. Read Article

ASC and Cornell Cooperative Extension of Steuben County Host 39th Annual Finger Lakes Dairy Judging Contest

The ±¬×ß³Ô¹Ï College (ASC) Agriculture and Horticulture Department and the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Steuben County hosted the 39th annual Finger Lakes Dairy Judging Contest for Future Farmers of America (FFA) members as well as 4-H members from local counties at the ASC college farm earlier this month.
